Local know-how
Working the Sharonville and Mill Creek ramps
NS Sharonville sits at 3155 E. Sharon Road, about 5 miles north of the Eagle yard off I-75 and I-275. Port of Virginia imports ground here, and since February 2026 every NS outbound in-gate in Cincinnati goes here too. NS is growing it from about 90,000 to 202,000 lifts a year, with completion expected in late 2026.
Down in the Mill Creek valley, NS Gest Street (gate at 1276 W. 8th Street) now grounds imports from Elizabeth, NJ and the West Coast but takes no outbound in-gates. CSX Queensgate sits next door on Western Avenue. Since May 4, 2026, NS requires Blume appointments for every Gest Street pickup and every international move at Sharonville.
The Brent Spence Bridge carries I-71 and I-75 over the Ohio River, about 33,000 trucks a day. Work on its companion bridge began in May 2026, with the new span due in 2031, so expect work zones into Northern Kentucky. That is where DCs line I-75 near CVG, a cargo hub for Amazon Air and DHL Express.

Cincinnati owner operator questions
Which rail ramps do Cincinnati owner operators run?
Norfolk Southern Sharonville at 3155 E. Sharon Road, NS Gest Street off W. 8th Street near downtown, and CSX Queensgate at 2149 Western Avenue. Sharonville is about 5 miles from Eagle's terminal, and Gest Street and Queensgate are about 9 miles.
Are there owner operator openings near Cincinnati right now?

No marine container terminal is within drayage range. International boxes from Elizabeth, NJ, the Port of Virginia and the West Coast arrive by rail, and you pick them up at the NS and CSX ramps in town.
Do I need an appointment at the NS ramps?
For most moves, yes. Since May 4, 2026, Norfolk Southern requires appointments through the Blume platform for all pickups at Gest Street and for all international pickups and drop-offs at Sharonville. NS also encourages dual moves.
How does the Brent Spence bridge work affect my runs?
Construction on the Brent Spence companion bridge started in May 2026, and the new bridge is expected to open in 2031. Plan for work zones on I-75 between downtown and Northern Kentucky, a corridor that already sees heavy truck traffic.
